The Spice Club restaurant in Cockermouth benefits from a distinguished pedigree of Bangladeshi restauranteurs in this country.  Nearly fifty years ago, Turik Ulah came to this country and helped pioneer the introduction of Indian & Bangladeshi style cuisine in Birmingham. Since then his son, Abdul, and his grandsons have extended their skills and knowledge to complement English tastes. The family now helps to operate restaurants in Keswick Cumbria (the highly regarded Lakeland Spice Cuisine), in Eymet, France and, since the autumn of 2006, The Spice Club in Cockermouth.
